Picture a Christmas Eve where you never set an oven timer or scrub a single roasting pan because someone else is doing all the cooking. At Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort, a grand country estate just outside Glasgow, that Christmas Eve starts on arrival with mulled wine and homemade mince pies beside roaring fires.

Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort’s newly announced 2026 Christmas and Hogmanay program folds nearly the whole holiday into the stay. Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas lunch and the evening entertainment all come with the package. Your biggest decision is two nights or three, on grounds overlooking the River Clyde and the Kilpatrick Hills.

A Mansion That Dates to 1828

About 20 minutes from Glasgow, Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort covers 240 acres. You can reach it in 10 minutes by car from Glasgow International Airport.

Architect Sir Robert Smirke designed the mansion for the 11th Lord Blantyre. It started rising in 1828, and Dutco Group, based in Dubai, bought the estate in 2024 to make it an international destination.

What Christmas Looks Like at Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort

The Christmas stays run two nights from Dec. 24 or three nights through Dec. 27. Stays for two nights start at about $1,550 per room for two adults.

On Christmas Day, you’ll start with a Scottish breakfast, then Champagne and canapés in The Gallery before Christmas lunch.

Falconry on the grounds comes with both stays. A third night adds a traditional roast on Boxing Day, Dec. 26.

New Executive Chef Brian Scanlan shaped the menus around Scottish produce, including herbs from the resort’s own garden.

Hogmanay Brings Out the Pipes

Hogmanay is Scotland’s name for New Year’s Eve. Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort’s Hogmanay stays include tickets to the Gala Ball in The Pavilion.

The dress code is black tie. You’ll start with Champagne and a four-course dinner before dancing toward midnight.

At midnight, the pipes welcome 2027. Then fireworks light up the estate against the Kilpatrick Hills.

Want a quieter break between the holidays? The Festive Interlude offers a single night’s stay with breakfast and pool access from Dec. 27 to 30.

Before the Big Day

The festive calendar at Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort also covers the weeks leading up to Christmas.

  • Host the Roast, new this year, gives your group a private dining room and a shared Christmas roast. One guest gets to carve the turkey at the table.
  • The festive take on afternoon tea runs Nov. 27 to Dec. 29 in The Dining Room. You can add a glass of Champagne.
  • Over the same dates, The Dining Room offers a three-course festive menu with a welcome cocktail.
  • Festive Party Nights take over The Pavilion on Dec. 4, 12 and 19 with a DJ and a live saxophonist. A free coach runs from Glasgow city center.
