Chef Betty Vázquez will cook Thanksgiving dinner for two at a jungle resort in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit. The resort calls her a renowned Mexican Master Chef, and the dinner is only one piece of a three-night package. A private beach day and a cooking lesson come with it.

Vázquez trained at Le Cordon Bleu in France and has led the kitchen at El Delfín, the restaurant at her family’s Hotel Garza Canela in San Blas. She has also served as culinary ambassador to Riviera Nayarit, the region where this resort sits.

3 Nights in a Jungle Suite

The stay runs from Wednesday, Nov. 25, to Saturday, Nov. 28, in a suite at Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit. The package covers breakfast, lunch and dinner for two. The hotel’s site describes the guest rooms as having mountain views.

The resort sits in the jungle, eight minutes from the fishing town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. It says its Aqua Jungle & River experience immerses guests in that setting, with offerings for adults and families. The hotel calls itself family-friendly, though guests must be at least 18 to check in.

Dinner by the Roof Garden Pool

Vázquez will cook a private dinner for two at the Roof Garden Pool, with wine pairings. She has also judged on Master Chef México. The announcement doesn’t share the menu or the time.

A Beach Day With a Ceviche Lesson

The package also gives you a private cabana for two at Tonati Beach Club, plus a ceviche cooking lesson. The hotel describes the club as casual beachfront dining with fresh seafood and local specialties, and its site lists open-air seating and ocean views. Nothing in the announcement says who teaches the lesson.

What Else Comes With the Stay

The resort calls itself a wellness hideaway, and the package includes daily spa access. The hotel says its spa has 10 natural cabanas for treatments.

The resort’s restaurants include Huichol Cocina Artesanal, which serves traditional Mexican and international cuisine made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Komorebi Teppanyaki serves dinner at four teppanyaki tables. The announcement says guests have ample time for these amenities:

  • Pools.
  • A lazy river and a water slide, both complimentary, according to the hotel.
  • Hiking trails to explore.
  • Daily activities.

Before You Book

The announcement gives no rate or booking page, so availability for Nov. 25 to 28 is a question for the resort. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov. 26, inside the stay, but the announcement doesn’t say which night the dinner is. It also leaves out the menu and who teaches the ceviche lesson.
