Family-Friendly Hotels
There’s no shortage of family-friendly hotels in Toronto. Stay close to Old Toronto and enjoy all that the waterfront offers or stick closer to the Financial District for the best shopping and restaurants.
The Fairmont Royal York
I’ve stayed at the Fairmont Royal York multiple times with my family, and it never fails to impress. This luxury hotel, just a stone’s throw from the iconic CN Tower, offers family and connecting rooms, making it a great choice for larger families. The kid’s dining menu and indoor skylit pool are big hits with the little ones. This is a posh hotel, but don’t let that dissuade you — there are plenty of kids running around.
Chelsea Hotel
My family and I have wonderful memories of the Chelsea Hotel. It offers an amazing Family Fun Zone with a pool, waterslide, teen lounge and kid’s center. Its downtown location is perfect for exploring the nearby Eaton Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto — Downtown Toronto
Taking a road trip with the family to Toronto? Families love this hotel in part because of the splash zone pool. It also offers spacious rooms with spectacular city views and is located right across from an entrance to PATH, Toronto’s underground pedestrian walkway and shopping area.
Hotels Ideal for Business Travelers
The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto
A stay at The Ritz-Carlton is always a pleasure, but it’s particularly well-suited for business travel. The hotel offers elegant suites with large desks, a 24-hour business center and a fantastic downtown location close to the financial district. Request a high floor when booking your room for some amazing skyline and Lake Ontario views. This is a fancy hotel with prices to match, but the service and amenities are second to none.
InterContinental Toronto Centre
Whenever I’m in Toronto for business, the InterContinental Toronto Centre is always at the top of my list. Besides its prime location just steps from the Convention Center and well-appointed rooms, the in-house Azure Restaurant is perfect for business dinners. The indoor pool is ideal for a relaxing swim after a long day of work, and it is close enough to many tourist attractions.
For the InterContinental Toronto Centre: ask the hotel about booking a private Peloton bike in your hotel room.

Hyatt Regency Toronto
Hyatt Regency Toronto‘s contemporary design, spacious workspaces and high-speed Wi-Fi make it a comfortable home away from home for business travelers. I’ve found the staff to be extraordinarily accommodating to my business needs, and with all that the Entertainment District has to offer so close by, this is always one of my first choices.
Romantic Hotels
The Hazelton Hotel
The Hazelton Hotel is one of my top choices for special occasions. This five-star luxury hotel in the Yorkville district offers lavish rooms, a private screening room and an exquisite restaurant. Nothing says romance like a private movie night in the Silver Screen Room. With Yorkville’s shopping and restaurants at your fingertips, you can enjoy all your favorite parts of a romantic weekend away at this top hotel.
The Omni King Edward Hotel
The historic Omni King Edward Hotel exudes classic elegance, which makes it perfect for a romantic getaway in Toronto, one of Canada’s best cities. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the high tea service in the Victoria Café is an experience not to be missed. Reserve your high tea well in advance, as this is a popular event.
Shangri-La Hotel
For a tranquil retreat in the middle of bustling Toronto, I can’t recommend the Shangri-La Hotel enough. Its spa, the Miraj Hammam Spa, provides a deeply relaxing experience that any couple can appreciate. Sleep late, enjoy an amazing breakfast with some local delicacies like peamal bacon, and just unwind. If your romantic getaway includes pampering, then this is the hotel for you.
“On our last trip to Toronto, we stayed in Ritz-Carton Wellington and it was more than I expected. The view of CN Tower right in front of us with spectacular waterfront was amazing, and everything we needed was accessible just steps away. The on-site bar was a highlight in the evenings, with some of the best cocktails I have ever tried.”

Boutique Hotels
The Drake Hotel
This trendy boutique hotel in the vibrant Queen West neighborhood is not only an ideal base to explore Toronto’s art and design scene, but it also houses its own art exhibits. I’ve always appreciated the individually designed rooms and the lively Drake Underground music venue at this property.
The Gladstone House
This artist-designed boutique hotel truly stands out. The Gladstone House features 37 unique rooms, each crafted by a different artist. My stays here have always been memorable due to the original artwork, vintage furnishings and local art exhibits. For a smaller property, this one always shines brightly.
Kimpton Saint George Hotel
Kimpton Saint George Hotel, located in the Bloor-Yorkville neighborhood, merges comfort and style seamlessly. Its art-filled interiors, contemporary design and thoughtful amenities have made it a firm favorite of mine. I love that it is still downtown but not in the middle of the touristy areas.
Other Noteworthy Hotels
Four Seasons Hotel Toronto
A list of Toronto hotels would be incomplete without mentioning the Four Seasons Hotel. Its award-winning spa, French cuisine restaurant, lap pool and spacious suites are just a few of the reasons why this hotel is a must-visit.
The Westin Harbour Castle
Located on the shores of Lake Ontario, The Westin Harbour Castle provides magnificent views. The hotel’s fitness studio, tennis court and indoor pool make it an ideal choice for health-conscious travelers. If you’re a foodie, you must check out this hotel’s signature restaurant, Don Alfonso 1890, which features a revolving restaurant with 360 degree city views.
Bisha Hotel Toronto
Lastly, Bisha Hotel Toronto boasts a rooftop restaurant, infinity pool and boutique-style rooms. Its stylish atmosphere and central location make it a brilliant choice for any visitor to the city.
