If your family deals with food allergies, Girl Scout Cookie season has probably meant watching from the sidelines. Everyone else gets a box of Thin Mints. You get the polite decline.
That’s finally changing in 2027. Girl Scouts of the USA just announced two brand-new cookies for next year, and one of them opens the door for a lot more people to join in.
This tradition goes all the way back to 1917, when the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma, sold homemade cookies out of their high school cafeteria. A hundred years later, Girl Scouts are still finding new ways to grow the lineup. On Sept. 8, they announced two cookies that finally reach people and pets the classics never covered.
Girl Scout Sparkables: The First Cookie Made for Allergies
Girl Scout Sparkables are crunchy oatmeal cookies loaded with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Girl Scouts teamed up with Partake, an allergy-friendly food company, and bakes them in a facility built to avoid the nine major food allergens: wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame and shellfish. They’re gluten-free and vegan too.

Patch Pals: A Treat Made Just for Dogs
Patch Pals give your dog a cookie of their own for the first time ever. Girl Scouts worked with BARK, the dog-obsessed company behind BarkBox, on these soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored treats. It’s one more excuse to spoil your dog during cookie season, Girl Scout in the house or not.

A new cookie shows up most years. Last year, it was Exploremores, a rocky road-inspired sandwich cookie that debuted in 2026. This time, Girl Scouts skipped past cookies for people entirely.
Sparkables and Patch Pals will ship online-only starting Jan. 12, when the 2027 season kicks off. You can order them the same way you’d order any other Girl Scout Cookie, through each Girl Scout’s Digital Cookie page. The rest of the classic lineup, including Thin Mints, Samoas and Adventurefuls, should stick around as usual.
