A Caribbean wedding doesn’t have to start with a long guest list. Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts now sorts its wedding packages by headcount, so the number of guests a couple invites determines which one fits. A few of those packages stop well short of a crowd.

The company also rebranded its wedding business as Bahia Principe Weddings. The rebrand centers on the guiding concept, “A New Horizon Together,” which the company said focuses on emotional connection and complete personalization.

Packages Sized to the Guest List

The new Bahia Principe Weddings lineup has six Caribbean packages, each built around guest count and celebration style. They run from an elopement for just the couple to a multi-day celebration for up to 40 guests. On-site wedding planners customize every package, including the decor, menus, entertainment and wellness options.

6 Ways to Say ‘I Do’

The company said destination weddings for U.S. couples have grown from single-day ceremonies into multi-day vacations. Even so, the lineup starts small. From smallest to largest, the packages break down like this:

  • Blissful: This elopement package is for just the couple, with a ceremony and a series of romantic experiences. They have their wedding dinner on the beach.
  • Joyful: This tier fits small weddings of up to 10 guests. The group eats its wedding dinner in a semi-private area, and the package includes 10% off at the spa.
  • Delightful: This tier accommodates up to 20 guests, with upgraded floral styling and personal touches. It includes a one-tier wedding cake.
  • Beautiful: The guest count grows to 30, and live music joins the party. It also adds a private cocktail hour and an open bar.
  • Wonderful: The signature multi-day package covers up to 40 guests, with events before and after the wedding day. It includes the ceremony and reception, floral upgrades, custom banquets and couples’ wellness add-ons. The couple also gets a 50-minute couples massage.
  • Sundara: This specialty package serves couples who follow South Asian traditions, including multi-day rituals. A wedding coordinator certified in South Asian weddings handles planning.

Where the Weddings Happen

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts offers packages in three Caribbean destinations. Couples can book them in Mexico’s Riviera Maya or Jamaica’s Runaway Bay. The Dominican Republic has three choices: Punta Cana, La Romana and Samaná.

Pick the Resort, Then the Package

The guest list helps you choose the resort. Bahia Principe Explore resorts are multigenerational, and Bahia Principe Escape resorts are adults-only. Both offer the full wedding lineup, so pick the resort first, then hand your final guest count to an on-site planner.
