A lakeside village in Finnish Lapland, a historic street in Valletta, an estate on the Amalfi Coast and a river peninsula in Zambia all get new places to stay in 2027. They open months apart, starting in the Arctic winter, so your choice could decide when you travel next year.
Villa Maura, Positano’s opening, is Treville’s take on “hotels within hotels,” where you get a private villa while still having the hotel’s service around you. Arcora draws on more than 50 years of Harriniva family history in Lapland. Musesenji sits in the quieter eastern end of the Lower Zambezi, away from the cluster of camps further west.
4 Openings, January Through Summer
You’ve got four openings in four countries, starting in January and ending in summer 2027. Three are in Europe, and one is a safari camp in Africa.
- Arcora Boutique Hotel & Villas opens in January in Torassieppi, a lakeside village in Muonio, north of the Arctic Circle. The hotel offers suites and villas, plus a rooftop infinity pool and a restaurant inspired by Lapland’s eight seasons. You can try husky sledding, snowshoeing, reindeer encounters and Northern Lights expeditions.
- Musesenji River Camp opens April 1 on a raised peninsula where the Zambezi and Musesenji rivers meet in Lower Zambezi National Park. It sleeps just 14 guests, and every tent has a private plunge pool. Its own aircraft connects you to King Lewanika Lodge in Liuwa Plain National Park and its seasonal wildebeest migration.
- In May, Treville Positano opens Villa Maura, a restored 17th-century villa that’s been part of the estate since 2020. Treville named its five suites for Liza Minnelli, Monica Bellucci, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren and Jacqueline Onassis. Book one suite or take the whole villa with a private chef.
- Magistero Suites & Penthouses opens on Valletta’s Republic Street in summer 2027 as part of Iniala Valletta. Italy’s Imperfetto Lab designed each of its 11 suites individually. Its food concept, SiR by Simon Rogan, centers on produce and gives the city a new social hub.
Before You Book Valletta or Positano
If Valletta’s on your list, you can now fly nonstop from New York to Malta on Delta, which launched the route in June 2026. You don’t have to wait for summer, either: Iniala Valletta opened its Solis wing in September 2026, with nine suites. Villa Maura’s rates aren’t out yet, so ask Treville before you pick May dates.
